Simon Weppe
MetOcean Solutions, Oceanographer
Simon holds a BSc in physics from a French university (Brest) and a MSc in Physical Oceanography from the University of Waikato. At MetOcean Solutions, Simon does numerical modelling with focus on nearshore wave dynamics and Lagrangian dispersion modelling.
He is involved in a range of studies on coastal processes such as sediment dynamics at dredge sites and harbours, beach protection, nearshore wave dynamics, pollution dispersion, and biophysical connectivity.
As part of the Ngā Ripo o Te Moana team, Simon is contributing to the development of the biophysical dispersion modelling tools employed to investigate connectivity of marine species around New Zealand.
