Dr Moninya Roughan
Professor of Oceanography at UNSW Australia
Dr Moninya Roughan is a Professor of Oceanography at the University of New South Wales Australia. She is an expert on Coastal Ocean dynamics and ocean observing: focusing on western boundary currents, marine heatwaves and Lagrangian larval connectivity.
She was the inaugural Director and Science Lead of the Moana Project from 2017-2020, and remains involved in the Ngā Ripo o Te Moana team exploring ocean dynamics, marine heat waves and connectivity around New Zealand and in the Tasman Sea.
