Professor Andrew Jeffs

University of Auckland

 

As a Professor within the University of Auckland’s Marine Sciences Department, Andrew’s research includes lobster biology and aquaculture. With interests in the esoteric marine ecological issues, Andrew’s has worked on applied research projects with the seafood industry.

Prior to his role at The University of Auckland, Andrew was general manager of aquaculture and biotechnology at NIWA, completed his PhD with Cawthron and held a role with DOC. Andrew’s marine research has included the retention of green-shell mussel spat, magnitude and timing of seed losses in mussel, as well as larval settlement of koura.

Andrew brings to the He Hono Moana team a variety of knowledge on ocean connectivity and aquaculture.
