Alice Della Penna
University of Auckland Lecturer
Ali is a Lecturer at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, working between the Institute of Marine Science and the School of Biological Sciences, where she divides her time between teaching and research.
Ali's research aims at understanding how organisms and ecosystems are affected by the marine dynamic environment using in-situ and remotely sensed observations as well as models.
One of her current projects, carried out with Ph.D. Candidate Hongtao Luo, Prof. Andrew Jeffs, and Dr. Joao de Souza within the Moana project, aims at understanding transport patterns in the Hauraki Gulf by developing a high-resolution regional model and using a Lagrangian approach to identify the key structures of the circulation.
